Step off the beaten path and join me in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, a chill surf town on the southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula. Here endless stretches of white sand beaches abuts lush jungle rainforest. Our beachfront retreat center offers intimate luxury accommodations while still keeping us connected to our natural surroundings with giant verandas and a beautiful saltwater pool. Day by day we’ll peel back life’s layers with yoga, community, nature, connection, food, rest and play.

Emily Hyland & Frank Wildermann Yoga Retreat / March 29th to April 5th, 2020

I 100% believe in the healing and restorative power of nature. I choose retreat locations that offer an immersive natural experience while still enjoying a bit of modern luxury like gourmet meals and flushing toilets 😉 Located on the southern part of the Nicoya peninsula, Santa Teresa is laid-back fishing village turned travel destination that attracts surfers and adventurous travelers alike. A lush forest frames the long stretch of white sand beach which has multiple surf breaks, as well spots for swimming, snorkeling, tide pools, SUP and more. While development has increased over the years, there are no high rise buildings, so the area maintains a pristine, natural setting with abundant wildlife. Sea turtles, manta rays, iguanas, sloths, monkeys and many types of birds can be seen at anytime! On the other side of the jungle that frames the beach you’ll find a long dusty road filled with surf shops, funky cafes and relaxed restaurants. This area is one of the world’s 5 “Blue Zones”, where locals live noticeably longer and happier lives. This laid-back vibe along with rugged jungle landscape and secluded, pristine beaches offers an ideal setting for a true retreat.

Boutique and intimate, Pranamar Oceanfront Retreat offers oceanfront villas and bungalows surrounded by tropical gardens, a beautiful river-themed saltwater pool and Playa Hermosa beach just steps away. Healthy and gourmet meals are served in a stunning open-air dining room, serving fresh and locally sourced cuisine. The elegantly designed villas & bungalows are built with Costa Rican hardwoods and bamboo. Big windows and giant veranda invite guests to soak up nature and ocean views in an intimate setting.

Yoga will take place in a gorgeous open air studio with a beautiful view of the natural surroundings. Fully stocked with mats and props. Morning practice will be slow-flow, strong and deep, intuitive and intelligent, each class building on each other with time for mediation, pranayama and posture lessons. Evening will be focused on relaxation, with more breath-work, restorative yoga, a sprinkling of deep-stretch and ending with guided deep relaxation.
